2025 elections : CPDM Train Takes Off

Jean Nkuete, Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM will on September 21, 2023 begin working visits to the ten regions of the country, starting with the Centre.

The launching will take place in Yaounde, symbolically chosen as the starting point of the nationwide tour including seminars, because it is the seat of institutions and seat of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM. The country awaits municipal and presidential elections in 2025. Considering the stakes and context, the Party has deemed it indispensable to train its militants, give them the necessary tools for what lies ahead. For a party that is constantly at work, the idea of organising these seminars did not mushroom in a day. This is the fruit of long reflections. The current national and international atmosphere further warrants that the party enlightens its own on what the 2025 elections represent for Cameroon’s democracy. The CPDM makes hay while it shines and the seminars will be the lieu par excellence to spell out the party’s expectations vis-a-vis its militants.
The timing is of the essence, and the choice of people invited to the seminars attests to the magnitude of the events. Unlike other party rallies that bring together all those who adhere to the ideologies of the CPDM under the chairmanship of President Paul Biya, the seminars target a particular crop of militants – members of the political bureau, militants who are members of government, members of permanent delegations, regional councillors, MPs, Senators, CPDM, WCPDM, YCPDM Section Presidents and council executives to site these. Thereafter, the message destined to this segment will be assimilated and later carried down the ladder right to the grassroots, in the bid to bring everyone onboard the moving train.
According to Professor Paul Celestine Ndembi Yembe, Secretary for Political and Prospective Training at the Central Committee, “it is time for us to revise our lessons”. If the CPDM succeeds as has been the case in previous political rendez-vous, it is because it does the requisite work, Prof Ndembi stressed. The themes for the seminar are as varied as they are poignant. Jean Nkuete will thus set the ball of intellectual reflections rolling as he is expected to deliver a strong message that will reinvigorate the ‘troops’ in readiness for 2025.
