North West : CPDM Calls for Biya to Launch Campaigns in Bamenda

Militants of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement CPDM in all ranks and files have solicited Paul Biya, natural candidate of the party for Presidential Elections to launch his campaigns in Bamenda, birth place of the party.

Commemorating the party’s 40th anniversary with a significant celebration at the Bamenda Congress Hall on Monday March 24, this call marked the climax of the ceremony which received undivided affirmation from party scribes and active members. Themed: « Let Us All Stand Ready, Behind President Paul Biya, To Take Up The Challenge Of A Clear, Transparent, And Unambiguous Victory For The CPDM Candidate In The Presidential Election, » the event reminded party supporters of their role as party faithful not to relent their commitment by any measure during this crucial season for the party.

« The party has stood firm despite hard times, growing stronger and achieving political victories, » Senator Regina Mundi, Acting Permanent Regional Head of the CPDM to the Central Committee admonished celebrants. In her appeal to the President of the Republic and founder of the CPDM, Senator Regina Mundi was clear that the launch of President Biy’s 2025 campaign in Bamenda is critical and strategic given his personal attachment to Bamenda which he prides as a « second home. »

Addressing Regional Challenges

While celebrating the ruby jubilee of that has gained significant growth in leaps and bounds was key to militants and supporters in the region, addressing challenges was the more vital to build a stronger party amid the changing times. The Regional Acting Permanent Head did not shy away from addressing the region’s ongoing challenges, particularly the separatist conflict. She made a direct plea to separatist fighters: « The future of this nation is to build and not destroy. This nation is in their hands. They should all return home and let’s build together. »

In order to keep a clean slate, the message of the Party’s Secretary General, Jean Nkuètéwas reechoed with a call for the Youth to stay away from violence and embrace peace and development. « We reaffirm our commitment to empower youth as we celebrate 40 years. We are committed to ensuring that all young people have their voices heard », the message read.

The CPDM on this 40th birthday, celebrated political dominance in the North West Region with an impressive electoral stronghold. Today, the party enjoys abolute political power in the region, holding 18 of the 20 Parliamentary seats, 9 of 10 Senatorial places, controls 34 of the 35 councils in the region will all elected members of the Regional Assembly invested by CDPM.
